Eye theory and colour theory.
In the west the eye follows the same path on a image. They start slightly to the right of the centre, then to the top to the right bottom of the page. This makes a Z shape. I have used this idea on the adverts I have made.
Colour theory is also something I looked into.
A massive post about colour and its relationship, http://www.jiscdigitalmedia.ac.uk/stillimages/advice/colour-theory-understanding-and-modelling-colour
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_wheel Wikipedia post on colour wheels.
Red is the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love.
Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.
Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.
Yellow is the color of sunshine. It's associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.
Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money.
White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection.
Black is associated with power, elegance, formality, death, evil, and mystery.

Editing problems
Today I planned a mass editing marathon, where I completely finished the 2 adverts with new footage. Alas it was not ment to be, the school server was having problems and final cut couldn't find my files. Error 41.
I will have to finish it off between lessons on wednesday and thursday.

Games adverts in magazines
This is the font cover for a Playstation magazine. This is advertising GT 4. This is also the same image as the cover of the game. This strengthens the link between the customers and the game.
The inside cover and next page showing more car and text about the game.
This is again following the conventions of this advert for the game.
What, car and simple to get the message though.
Here is a 1 page spread of a racing game. This game is also linking with the game cover and the style of the adverts.
At the bottom of this is a 2 page advert for the burnout game. Its exactly what you would expect for the game and the advert conventions.
The game is all about taking down the other drivers which is what has happened here. The fire and the crash will attract the right audience to buy the game.
2 page spread for Motorstorm 1. This use metaphors, the world is in your hand. Linking with the rock shaped like a hand.
Motorstorm also boast their landscape design and views. This ties in with the view from up the hill, showing the cars in the race.
This final advert is for the then new PS3. The colour use and text is eye catching and has a very bold statement. It will keep in your memory till you next see the PS3 or anything related to it.

First edit of advertisement 1
Story, Camera zooms out on focused flower, then a car runs over the flower at a speed. Once the car enters the shot loud, fast paced music jumps in.
This is the first edit. With no sound track.
Quite happy with the clips but looking back I need to dive over the flower better and the focus on the flower, at a faster pace.
Improvements-
Faster paced - Done
Run over the flower - Done
Get a shot of the car leaving showing the flower - Done

New motorstorm talk through
New review for the Motorstorm 3 game. Show parts of the game and the developers talking about new features.
This enhances the we media and increased connection with customers or gamers wanting to buy that game.
I am also using this game as a way to take the PS3 logo clip at the end. This will be used for the endings of the adverts.

Ghosting the past
This technique was first shown to be by a friend. He was sent this link due to his love of the blitz and photography.
http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/the-ghosts-of-world-war-iis
Here shows someone in Russia that has over laid old war photos onto new pictures to show the damage and change that has occurred.
I really like before and after photos and seeing the change but this is a new way that has inspired me to recreate some of Norwich.
A group was set up by the friend For our photos.

Half life 2 in paper stop-motion.
These two well made paper versions are the hit valve game "half life". It follows the story line very well and uses humor with comical seens that you think/ happen in the game. This relates as people will remember their experiences through the game and will enjoy or not like the clip.
This is a low budget filmed clip. As it is made using paper. but this skill used to animate the paper gives of the illusion of realisum for the game.
The sound comes from the game at the points in the film.
I posted the link on my facebook.
This shows the responce I got from the post. This Is a great tool for finding the right market for the video as you have so many friends, each with a different interest.

Name/title.
I have been lacking a name for the game, First thoughts is that its need to include Words like:
RC, Stunt, Race, Jump, Action, Speed.
First name that I have come up with is RC Stunt race. This is a start But it doesn't sound powering and fun. Unlike Burnout.
RC -action, ReaCtion, RaCe
I like these as they include the RC with in the word.

Short animatic
This is a short animatic of a idea I have for a advert, There is no sound as of yet, but I will introduce something.
The idea is that its a beautiful day, zooming out from a flower. Gets to a stop point then suddenly a car runs it over and the loud musics starts, The final shot is the camera panning down to see the car going off in the distance.
I think using the real flower will be wrong, because I dont think the right one is out there and im running it over, So I might make a flower or source a plastic one out.
I will be making a small questionaire about using a real or fake plant.

Tilt-shift videos
Im and great fan of tilt-shift photography due to my love of models. But after searching I have come across a great tilt-shift video. I never knew this was possible. It creator of this has also done many other videos all as good as the last.
Bathtub IV from Keith Loutit on Vimeo.
I would like to create this but since im using a small car it wont work as well. I might try it as a side project later on.

Car trouble 2
After spending hours trying to start the car. It finally responded and we got it to a stage where we could move it before it stalled. It's still very mad and erratic so we decided to leave it as it was getting dark. Another reason is that we don't have the expertise, we are thinking of taking it in to the shop.
Starting an animatic on one idea I have on a advert.
Also going up mousehold again hopefully today to take more photos and test lighting.
